Prepare a booking brief
Put the exact exam code at the top of a short note, including its A or B suffix. Add your preferred examination language, a realistic date range and the location or delivery arrangement you can attend. Confirm the pathway first; similarly named examinations are not interchangeable. Have the identification you intend to use available so you can enter a consistent name.
If an employer is arranging the booking, establish who creates the registration, who pays and who receives the confirmation. Avoid making a second individual booking because a corporate confirmation has not yet arrived. Request the existing booking reference instead.
Start from the official examination page
Follow the official registration route linked from the relevant exam page. Sign in or complete the provider’s registration process as prompted, checking that you are still on the official service. Read any declarations before submitting them. Portal labels can change, so use the meaning of the task rather than following an old screenshot button by button.
Review the examination language as a booking choice; changing the website language does not by itself prove that the appointment uses that language. Select from the actual available appointments and record the time zone shown. A preferred date in your personal schedule is not a reserved seat.
Resolve special requirements before purchase
If you need an adjustment, have an identification-name discrepancy, or cannot tell which delivery arrangement is offered, contact the provider before finalising the appointment. Explain the issue without sending sensitive documents to an unverified address. Ask what evidence is required and how it should be supplied securely. Retain the response with the booking record.
Read the applicable provider policy, including the rules for changes, cancellation and missed appointments. Some CME examinations are delivered with a partner, so a general FAQ may not answer the terms for your particular examination. Do not assume that a course tutor can approve an exception.
Check payment and confirmation separately
Before confirming payment, review the final amount, any taxes, the selected examination and the payer information. Use a payment method actually offered by the official checkout. CMEPath course access and official examination registration are separate purchases; paying for one does not book the other. Save the official receipt or invoice using the provider’s available process.
After payment, look for a booking reference and confirmed appointment details. If the transaction times out or the bank reports a charge without a confirmed booking, check your provider account and payment status before trying again. Send the provider the time, amount and reference needed to investigate; never send a full card number or security code.
Make the booking usable on the day
Create one folder containing the confirmation, joining instructions, accepted-identification requirements and any approved adjustments. Add the appointment to your calendar and set an earlier reminder to check for provider messages. Read the confirmation closely enough to identify what still requires action, including any candidate forms requested by the awarding body.
If the date changes, confirm the replacement appointment explicitly and update your study schedule. Keep the superseded confirmation for your records but mark it clearly so you do not travel using the wrong time. The booking checklist below can help you track preparation in this browser.
