Recheck the appointment, not your memory
Open the latest confirmation and verify the exam code, A/B suffix, language, date and time. Check whether a later message supersedes an earlier one. Confirm the centre location and arrival instructions, or the explicit delivery requirements if your booking offers another arrangement. Do not infer remote availability from a general advertisement for a different examination.
Put the booking reference, provider contact route and approved adjustments in one place. If anything is inconsistent, contact the provider before the day. Your study calendar is useful for reminders, but the confirmed appointment is the source for where and when you must attend.
Prepare identification and permitted items
Read the identification requirements for the booked examination and check that the document is valid and the name matches. Resolve discrepancies in advance through the provider. Do not assume that a photograph of a document, an expired document or a different spelling will be accepted without confirmation.
Review the instructions for calculators, stationery, personal devices and belongings. The Academy policy includes provider-specific rules, so advice from someone taking another exam can be misleading. Prepare only items explicitly permitted for your appointment. If an adjustment has been approved, check how staff will recognise and implement it rather than assuming the original request is enough.
Reduce avoidable pressure before you arrive
Plan the journey using the actual centre address and allow for traffic, building access and check-in. Use the provider’s stated arrival requirement rather than a guessed universal number. If another delivery arrangement is explicitly confirmed, complete the required environment or equipment checks according to its instructions.
The day before, choose a short review of recurring mistakes and key distinctions. Avoid replacing a stable routine with an all-night attempt to cover everything. Prepare clothing, transport and documents early. A simple meal and a familiar routine help you focus on the tasks you can control without making any guarantee about performance.
Use the opening instructions carefully
Listen to the invigilator and read the examination interface instructions before starting the assessed work. Check permitted navigation, review controls and submission steps rather than assuming they match a practice platform. Ask staff about an instruction you do not understand; do not ask them for help with the academic answer.
If equipment, display or access fails, notify the invigilator or authorised support promptly through the approved route. Note the nature and timing of the incident as permitted, without recording examination content. Do not try an unauthorised device or outside assistance to work around the problem.
Finish cleanly and keep the right record
Before submitting, use any permitted review time to check unfinished items and clear calculation or reading mistakes. Follow the displayed completion instructions and any directions from staff. Afterwards, retain the official result or the instructions for obtaining it; a memory of an on-screen number is not a substitute for the provider record.
If you need to raise a concern about conditions, use the official process promptly and check the applicable deadline. Describe the incident without sharing protected examination questions. Once the examination is over, take a break and plan your next steps from the confirmed outcome rather than comparing recalled questions with other candidates.
